Hargsoon Yoon

Dr. Hargsoon Yoon received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics from Yonsei University, Korea in 1992 and 1994. From 1994 to 2000, he worked for the Hynix Electronics Co., one of the major semiconductor chip manufacturers in the world, where he was involved in the development of radio frequency integrated circuits (RFIC) and CMOS image sensors.
He earned a Ph.D. degree in Engineering Science from Pennsylvania State University in 2003. He has published over 30 research papers and conference proceedings. He has five granted and two pending patents based on his research and development of microelectronic and biomedical devices.
Dr. Yoon is member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). His research interest includes developing various biomedical sensors and neuro prosthetic devices using bio-compatible nanoelectrodes for the early detection and treatment of myocardial ischemia, diabetes, and neurological disorders such as spinal cord injury, Parkinson disease, and Tourette syndrome.
