Biographical Information
Tom obtained his degree as an Electronics Technician III from the U.S. Navy in 1982. He specialized in Navigational Radar Systems, Microwave Communication, and Surface to Air Computer Guidance Systems. After leaving the Navy, Tom owned his own business in Fayetteville, AR where he performed troubleshooting and repair on microelectronics for 12 years. He began working at the University of Arkansas in 1995 assisting with installation of a fiber optic backbone and high speed cabling for the communication infrastructure network systems. While at the University, Tom became certified for the design and installation of Fire Alarm Systems. Tom joined HiDEC in 2008 as a Research Assistant. Some of his current responsibilities include, installation of new equipment systems and troubleshooting and repair of various systems.
